Oliver 990

Just like me, my dad is always working on a project. The newest project is a tractor that he is going to restore which when finished will complete a series of tractors in his collection that were manufactured in the late 1950s to the early 1960s. It is the 6th and final in the series and the largest. The tractor is a 1961 Oliver 990. It had a three cylinder GM diesel engine rated at 80 horsepower.

Dads assistant Paul, is a veteran of many of my dad’s restorations of the past few years.

Burnout

Often I will work on a project until I completely burn my self out. I love to take myself right to the edge, and then a little further! Well, that’s not a 100% true. But I do obsess with things.

I have been working on wood floors all month. My body hurts. But when one looks at the finial product it is a vary good feeling.

Ok, the photos don’t show it but my day was more exciting then watering X Mass trees in the cold. Was in Columbia in the morning for turf grass meting. In the afternoon I worked the tree lot and in the evening I went to an oyster roast. It was an A plus day.

This was challenging week. But productive on many levels. But not the best week for photos, so at times I dived into my past, 1992 when I worked on aircraft.

If I ever had a chance at GQ this would have been it!

Because I was unable to get a good photo of myself doing something neat today, I will look into the past. In the early 1990s I did some old aircraft restoration. This was a fun project, a 1947 Stinson. I did all the fabric work and primer on this one.
