From start to finish

This was a little project for a couple that needed a small table next to the couch in there living room.  Like they said, you simply can’t by things like this. How true.

Pepper Pine 2011

Pepper Pine 2011

I only made one cabinet in 2011 and this is it. The wood is from Omaha NE that I found in 2009.

I started in late August 2011 and finished it in January 2012 in my new shop the Hypogeum. This is the most organic cabinet that I have ever made.

Pine carcase. The door frame and drawers are tulip poplar. The door pull is the tip of a deer antler. H 27 ½” W 10 3/16” D 9 1/2”

Finish is boiled linseed oil and wax.

Finished.

Today I completed another one of my small cabinets. I started it way back in August, but work and the holiday’s slow things. It was one of the most painstaking cabinets that I have made. These are not the official photos. I hope to get to that this week and maybe a description of the construction as well as thought process. Maybe.
